Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Battle Between YES and NO draws from the exhibition in Kunsthalle Praha dedicated to William Kentridge, one of the most influential contemporary artists. His work, shaped by growing up during apartheid in South Africa, reflects themes of power, memory, conflict, and the complexities of human existence.

This off-white unisex T-shirt translates the exhibition’s visual language into a wearable format. The large-scale screen print on the front acts as a clear and confident statement, both visually and conceptually, while the minimal design keeps the focus on the artwork itself.

Made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, the T-shirt offers comfort alongside a more responsible production approach – combining art, quality, and conscious design.

William Kentridge

William Kentridge (*1955, Johannesburg) is one of the most influential contemporary artists. His multidisciplinary practice spans drawing, printmaking, film, animation, theatre, and installation, exploring the relationship between image, time, and memory.

Deeply shaped by the political and historical context of South Africa, particularly apartheid, his work addresses themes of power, injustice, collective memory, and human responsibility. He often works through fragmentation, repetition, and shifting meaning.

Drawing remains central to his practice as a process in flux – images are never fixed but constantly erased, redrawn, and transformed. This openness gives his work a distinctive and enduring relevance.
