MAATTY

MAATTY (Matěj Hošek) is one of the most distinctive young names on the contemporary Czech art scene. He lives with autism, and lines have been his natural language since childhood – first maps of public transport routes, drawn for the sheer pleasure of it, which later evolved into a distinctive visual system built on rhythm, repetition, and geometry.

Precise shapes and structures have always given him a way to order his thoughts and find calm, and it's this fusion of order and emotion that shapes his work today, where architectural precision meets deeply personal content. He draws loosely on the legacy of artists like Piet Mondrian and Zdeněk Sýkora, yet his own visual language is unmistakably his own.

In 2025, he was named to Forbes Czech Republic's 30 Under 30 list, an honour that recognised both his artistic achievement and his personal story.
