Product detailed description
Cabinet of Electrical Curiosities is a compact and visually rich catalogue accompanying Mark Dion’s installation at Kunsthalle Praha. The artist collected mostly industrial components from the former Zenger transformer station—the very site of the exhibition.
The project explores the story of the building, from its role in powering Prague’s tram system in the 1930s to its cultural repurposing. Through switches, fuses, bulbs, meters, and wires, Dion invites us to reflect on the evolution of urban infrastructure and daily life.
Arranged like rare museum specimens, the selected objects bear witness to a revolution of modernity. This guide includes insightful descriptions by technical historian Milan Guštar and additional commentary by Christelle Havranek.
