DUNES tall glass set

€99
In Stock

The crystal glassware was inspired by the sand dunes, that are projected on the inside of glass objects, while their outer form has a precise shape. When their content is filled with liquid, the dunes completely disappear, only the outer silhouette of the glass remains visible.

The glasses were shaped by hand-blowing into the wooden molds using a special procedure resulting in the precisely uneven and unique deformation of each piece.

Monotropa

A Prague design studio that emphasises quality craftsmanship, simple yet bold designs, and natural or recycled materials. The name is inspired by the non-photosynthetic wildflower, Monotropa Uniflora, also known as the ghost plant, which derives energy from green photosynthetic plants. And just as this flower draws energy from all the plants around it, Monotropa studio draws its inspiration from the rich visual palette around us and plants its seeds of ideas, offers a variety of different products, and accepts very beneficial interdisciplinary collaborations. The DUNES collection was created in cooperation with Tomáš Kučera, a student of the glass studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and promising young designer who became the discovery of the year at 2021 Czech Design Week.
