(De)Formed Yellow Vase by David Valner captures molten glass in its most expressive state—balancing sculptural elegance with material unpredictability.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

The (De)Formed Yellow Vase by David Valner is a powerful reflection on transformation, form, and the raw behavior of hot glass. In this standout piece, large volumes of molten material are poured and allowed to collapse under their own weight—resulting in a unique object formed between intention and accident.

This series of vases documents the gradual shift from structure to abstraction. Each vase corresponds to a degree of deformation—low, medium, or complete—making every piece a singular artifact of the moment it cooled and solidified. The vibrant yellow hue adds a layer of visual energy, enhancing its sculptural presence.

Handmade by Valner Studio in Olomouc, Czech Republic, the object reflects the studio's mission to combine traditional Czech glassblowing with contemporary sculptural language. The result is not just a vessel, but a physical trace of process and time.

David Valner – Czech glass designer

David Valner is a Czech glass designer and visual artist who grew up in a glass-making family and builds his practice on traditional hot-glass techniques fused with a highly personal material approach.

His studio, Valner Studio, combines craftsmanship with innovative design – producing unique objects and functional pieces where every ‘imperfection’ or variation is celebrated as evidence of being handmade.

Valner’s inspiration comes from nature, craft, and the glass-making heritage of the Vysočina region; his work blurs the boundary between decorative art and applied design.
