Krištof Kintera

Krištof Kintera is one of the most influential figures in contemporary Czech art. His work spans sculpture, installation, performance and technologically driven experiments. Often responding to pressing social, ecological and political themes, his pieces are marked by sharp wit, conceptual tension and a distinctive command of materials.

Kintera creates complex objects and installations that operate on both physical and intellectual levels. He frequently incorporates everyday items, electronics and industrial materials, transforming them into unexpected forms that challenge viewers' perceptions. His works provoke emotion and thought, shifting between humour, poetry and critiques of modern civilization.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1992–1999) and completed a prestigious residency at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam (2003–2004). Living and working in Prague, he is represented in numerous public and private collections worldwide.

Kintera’s practice has significantly shaped both the Czech and international art scenes. His installations are celebrated for their ability to capture the tensions of contemporary life while showcasing technical precision and bold imagination.
