The book "Planet Prague" invites you to explore what you can run into in the street and observe in the city. What's going on in front of your house from the crack between the façade and the sidewalk? Where in the back courtyard did a snail get married? How does a green-footed hen cope when a dog drives her out of her nest? How does a grey, white-toothed woodpecker get its chicks safely over the curb? What use is a cigarette butt to birds? Where can you look for bird droppings? And what did the merlin do to get the nickname "smelly" or "perverted?" We'll show you that incredible stories can take place where you least expect it and where you perhaps never even noticed before. The city is just happening! This book was created to coincide with the shooting of the film of the same name, which was directed by Jan Hošek and a team of professional collaborators and film colleagues. Experts became the authors of the book's texts whilst cameramen became the photographers. And what wasn't filmed was found in the archives of botanists, zoologists, and historians and supplemented with original illustrations.
