Detailed information

Product detailed description

Tracey Emin: A Second Life accompanies a major retrospective exhibition tracing over four decades of the artist’s groundbreaking career. Emin rose to prominence in the 1990s with works such as My Bed, which challenged conventional definitions of art and opened up space for deeply personal expression.

The book explores her distinctive approach, where the personal and the public intertwine, and presents works across a wide range of media – including painting, drawing, video, textiles, neon, writing, sculpture and installation. Central to her practice is the use of the body, emotion and autobiography to address themes of love, pain and healing.

Featuring reproductions of key works alongside previously unseen pieces, the publication also includes contributions from curators and writers such as Maria Balshaw and Alvin Li. The result is a visually rich and insightful volume offering a deeper understanding of one of the defining figures of contemporary art.
