Product detailed description
Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (b. 1972), renowned for her distinctive visual language spanning drawing, performance, sculpture, and installation, addresses core human themes. Through expansive thread installations incorporating everyday objects and personal memorabilia, she crafts powerful environments that evoke nostalgia, personal history, and collective memory.
This English-language catalogue accompanies The Unsettled Soul, Shiota’s first presentation in the Czech Republic at Kunsthalle Praha. In addition to extensive photographic documentation of the Prague exhibition, it features an essay by Jason Waite on Shiota’s early works and an in-depth interview conducted by editor Christelle Havranek exploring the exhibition’s key themes and creation process.
The catalogue will be available from February 19, 2025.
