Jan Dobrovský set out among the Romani families in Krásná Lípa to seek the poetry of raw existence – and found more than just photographs. He visited them in their homes, watched them during holiday ceremonies and boxing training sessions. His black-and-white compositions, created in an atmosphere of mutual trust, capture intimacy, nuances of light, and an unforced desire to become the hero of one's own life.

The result is an empathetic visual diary in which Leica revives the author's personal debt to friendship and understanding, providing an unbiased impression of human dignity and cultural diversity within the community.
