raawii was founded in 2017 by Bo Raahauge Rasmussen and Nicholai Wiig-Hansen in Copenhagen, Denmark. The brand name is formed from the first letters of their surnames.

The founders — one a designer and educator, the other an economist and development expert — share a passion for collaborating with diverse creatives and transforming ideas into physical reality. Their ambition is for raawii to function as a design platform that uses creativity as a catalyst for cultural and social progress.

The raawii design philosophy is rooted in curiosity and a willingness to challenge conventional solutions. The brand seeks partners who push boundaries and inspire new ways of thinking.

A significant source of inspiration comes from art. Their first collection, Strøm, references a well-known Danish cubist painting. Although raawii embraces diversity in design, all of its products share sculptural qualities — bold volumes, strong silhouettes and a distinctive use of colour.
