Biography is the first image-only publication by the Danish-Norwegian artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset, compiling hundreds of snapshots from their personal archive The Incidental Self. Spanning more than two decades of collaboration, this visual anthology captures the full spectrum of their artistic and personal journey.

Previously exhibited in institutions and biennials across Europe and Asia, these candid images reveal life behind the scenes—at exhibitions, in the studio, during travels, and at parties. Photos contributed by friends, assistants, and collaborators intermingle with private moments, producing a portrait that is at once tender, humorous, and defiantly unfiltered. The result is a surreal and strikingly masculine reinterpretation of the family photo album—equal parts autobiography, performance, and social commentary.
