The author, Markéta Magidová, transforms her young daughters‘ scribbles into digital paintings, sculptures and animated films. You could have met Mrs. She during our recent exhibition My Sweet Inedible Planet by Markéta Magidová at Kunsthalle Praha. Her long black hair was trully hard to miss.

Markéta Magidová

Markéta Magidová is a film director and a visual artist working mainly with sculptures and digital paintings. Her interest lies in the connection of the rigid, coded patterns of human behaviour with the possibility of creating new social and visual imagery and new ways of perception. The main themes of her work are gender and social norms, the relationship between mythology and the present and, more recently, children's imagination. Her recent exhibition at Kunsthalle Praha, My Sweet Inedible Planet, was based on the last of these themes..
