Rückl is a traditional Czech glassworks with more than a century of history, renowned for its precision-cut crystal and distinctive decorative style. The brand was founded in 1903 and has gradually built a solid position among the icons of Czech glassmaking. Its work is based on master craftsmanship, hand-cut glass and a deep respect for a material that is symbolic of Czech culture.
The brand's current image is largely shaped by artistic director Kateřina Handlová. She grew up in a family of glass artists and has been involved with glass since high school and throughout her studies at UMPRUM. She gained experience abroad, including at the Dutch studio Thier & VanDaalen and at LASVIT, where she worked as a senior designer, and also worked in Dubai for several years. She also designed a collection of lighting fixtures for the Bomma brand. In her work, she combines an eye for detail, inspiration from fashion and oriental culture with a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship.
Under her leadership, Rückl brings a contemporary perspective to cut glass – bolder, more confident, and visually striking. Traditional techniques take on a new context here, and crystal becomes a medium for contemporary design expression. Each object is created in a Czech glassworks and is proof that quality craftsmanship and an innovative artistic approach can form a harmonious whole.
Today, Rückl represents a combination of historical heritage and modern aesthetics – a brand built on precision, courage, and the timeless beauty of Czech crystal.
