The Supernova ornament is part of the Random Collection, created through a collaboration between Rautis and design studio LLEV. The collection explores the tension between order and chaos, bringing glass beads together in unexpected arrangements that evoke exploding stars, celestial bodies and the moment something new comes into being.

Behind the ornament lies an exceptional craft tradition. Rautis is based in Poniklá in the Krkonoše Mountains, the only place in the world where traditional glass bead-making has been preserved to this day. The craft dates back to the 1870s, with knowledge and skills passed down through generations. In 2020, this unique tradition was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

With its distinctive shape and combination of pink, silver and gold, Supernova resembles a small celestial phenomenon. It brings a touch of unexpected energy to the Christmas tree, adding a playful twist to traditional festive decorations.
