Product detailed description
Papier peint Utérus (2017) is a wallpaper covered in delicately coloured uteruses and these temporary tattoos bring details from the work onto the skin in a smaller format. A work that fills an entire room in the gallery is here reduced to a small gesture you can take with you.
Choose one of the two designs and wear a small reminder of the Annette Messager: Tragikomedie exhibition at Kunsthalle Praha on your skin. Place it on your hand, arm or wherever you want to make a statement – a temporary detail that can be enjoyed without committing to a permanent tattoo.

Annette Messager
Annette Messager is a French artist whose work spans installation, drawing, collage, photography and sculpture. She represented France at the 2005 Venice Biennale, where she was awarded the Golden Lion for Best National Participation. Her work has been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, MoMA in New York and Hayward Gallery in London.
Her work has long explored the body, gender, desire and memory. Her early works examined systems of control and stereotypes surrounding women, while from the 1980s onwards she developed new versions of the female figure – witches, monsters, heroines and protesting figures. Humour and subtle subversion run throughout her practice.
She often brings opposites together – care and violence, order and chaos, playfulness and unease. By putting these seemingly contradictory elements side by side, she challenges familiar ideas and gives them a new twist.
