Product detailed description
Can something be perfectly arranged and still look completely spontaneous? The Order in Chaos Christmas ornament was created through a collaboration between Rautis and design studio LLEV as part of the Random Collection, which explores the balance between order and chaos. Its centre features an apparently random arrangement of glass beads that come together to create an unexpected visual harmony. Its distinctive character lies in the tension between symmetry and asymmetry.
Behind the ornament lies an exceptional craft tradition. Rautis is based in Poniklá in the Krkonoše Mountains, the only place in the world where traditional glass bead-making has been preserved to this day. The craft dates back to the 1870s, with knowledge and skills passed down through generations. In 2020, this unique tradition was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
