DISTURBIA Medium Earrings have the look of tiny Baroque artefacts. Their irregular shapes and clear glass make a statement without feeling overly ornate. Each pair is made using different leftover pieces of glass, so no two are exactly alike.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

The DISTURBIA earrings give new purpose to glass pieces that might otherwise go unused in the studio. The collection grew out of a simple idea: making the most of every fragment of material and turning it into something worth wearing. Their irregular glass forms have a distinctly Baroque feel, with each pair taking on its own shape. The clear glass keeps the look light, allowing the sculptural silhouettes and subtle reflections to speak for themselves.

Every pair is unique. Each glass element is handmade over a glassworking torch in the studio beneath Ještěd. The fittings are made of surgical stainless steel and come in either a gold-plated or silver-plated finish. They are also suitable for sensitive skin.

Please note: photos are for reference only. The exact appearance may vary – every order holds a little surprise. To choose a specific piece in person, please visit Kunsthalle Praha Design Shop.

Kultivar

Kultivar is a glassmaking studio, creative hub and social enterprise rooted in the traditional craft of lampworking and glass blowing. Founded in Liberec in 2016 by Klára Jägerová, the space originally combined a shared workshop, the author’s own studio “U Kahanu” and a showroom for local artisans. Thanks to its generous premises, Kultivar soon developed into a vibrant cultural centre hosting events, exhibitions and hands-on workshops.

Between 2016 and 2021, Kultivar organised more than 150 craft workshops and numerous lectures and community events focused on sustainability, creativity and material awareness. It also served as a gallery and retail space supporting local makers.

After the pandemic forced the closure of its original venue, the project continued in pop-up form until 2023, when a new chapter began: together with Eva Jägerová, the studio was revived with a renewed focus on glassmaking. Today, Kultivar operates from Liberec’s Františkov district and brings together a team of six makers.

Kultivar’s mission is to preserve, teach and further develop the traditional lampworking technique. As a social enterprise, it prioritises sustainability — using primarily local glass, upcycling waste material, organising workshops on low-waste practices and creating employment opportunities for people who face barriers in creative craft fields.

More than 50% of the studio’s profit is reinvested into community development, making Kultivar not only a place of craftsmanship but also a meaningful cultural and social cornerstone.
