Product detailed description
The inspiration for this limited series of lithographs came from the Kunsthalle Praha building itself, which originally served as the Zenger Transformer Station. The black rectangle at the centre of the composition represents the gallery's building, while the tangled lines around it evoke the wires and power lines through which energy once radiated into the surrounding city. In the same way, art now radiates outward from Kunsthalle Praha today, represented by the colour orange, into society, symbolised in the composition by blue.
Lines have been Maatty's world since childhood – first as maps of public transport routes, later as Pablo Picasso's cubism, linear abstraction inspired by Piet Mondrian, or the computer-based art of Zdeněk Sýkora. The artist himself describes his work as a way of turning inward and searching for shapes and routes that make sense to him – while leaving space for every viewer to find their own story within his abstract compositions.
This limited edition of lithographs was created exclusively for the Kunsthalle Praha Design Shop in two colour variants – Turquoise and Light Orange – each limited to 20 numbered and artist-signed prints.

MAATTY
MAATTY (Matěj Hošek) is one of the most distinctive young names on the contemporary Czech art scene. He lives with autism, and lines have been his natural language since childhood – first maps of public transport routes, drawn for the sheer pleasure of it, which later evolved into a distinctive visual system built on rhythm, repetition, and geometry. Precise shapes and structures have always given him a way to order his thoughts and find calm, and it's this fusion of order and emotion that shapes his work today, where architectural precision meets deeply personal content. He draws loosely on the legacy of artists like Piet Mondrian and Zdeněk Sýkora, yet his own visual language is unmistakably his own. In 2025, he was named to Forbes Czech Republic's "30 Under 30" list, an honour that recognised both his artistic achievement and his personal story.
