Product detailed description
The (De)Formed Blue Vase by David Valner is part of an ongoing exploration into the physical properties of glass. In this striking piece, large quantities of molten glass are poured and allowed to deform under their own weight—embracing gravity, heat, and unpredictability as creative forces.
The result is a one-of-a-kind sculptural vase that captures the exact moment when fluidity gives way to form. Each piece in the series reflects a different stage of deformation—low, medium, or complete—making every vase a unique expression of energy suspended in glass.
Created by Valner Studio, a family-run collective based in Olomouc, Czech Republic, the vase reflects the studio’s philosophy of blending traditional glassmaking with a contemporary sculptural vision. Each object is handmade and produced with care over several weeks, emphasizing both craftsmanship and conceptual depth.
