Homa, the new collection by Janja Prokić, the artist and jewellery designer, is flying on bird wings across the Arafura Sea to Papua New Guinea. It is inspired by the culture, myths and unique natural heritage of the island, the only place in the world inhabited by the birds of paradise. These heavenly fragile creatures and their feathers symbolise untouchability and protection from above in their basal essence, in their beauty, which impresses by its depth and shields against the evil.

Janja Prokić

Janja Prokić is one of the most awarded designers in the Czech Republic. She was already nominated for the Czech Grad Design Award with her first Lure collection, and she has been raking in nominations since then with the release of neary every new collection. She earned the title Jewelry Designer of the Year in 2014 for her Hidden Place collection and in 2018 for her Homa collection. For Janja, jewelry is not just a visual matter. It also must have a deeper meaning. All collections are based on her personal life and she herself calls them her diary. Her work is inspired by the study of shamanism, symbolism, and white magic as well as her childhood, dreams, and fairy tales. But, perhaps, her biggest muse is nature. Each of Janja's collections is unique and focuses on different motifs.
