Elmgreen & Dragset - Reversed Crucifix Limited Edition

Product detailed description
The sculpture Reversed Crucifix breaks traditional religious iconography by replacing Christ with an ordinary contemporary man. The figure is mounted upside down on the cross, with his front pressed to the cross and back turned to the viewer. His hands are tied rather than nailed, recalling historical depictions of the two thieves crucified beside Christ. This work challenges symbolic norms and invites new interpretations.
