FULL OF ART: collection in collaboration with Kristina Ambrozová

Every gallery visitor takes a piece of art home with them, so why not wear it, too? The new FULL OF ART collection was designed for us by Kristina Ambrozová, a graphic designer, illustrator and member of the 44" Print and Analog Bros printing studio.

The first design is inspired by the controversial ready-made sculpture Fountain (1917), introduced to the world by Marcel Duchamp. It is a urinal on a pedestal that has been called the most influential work of art of the 20th century. It completely changed the way art was perceived and made Duchamp one of the forerunners of conceptual art. However, as we suggested in the introduction, Duchamp presented the sculpture but was probably not its creator. According to research by British art historian Glyn Thompson, the creator may have been the avant-garde artist and Dadaist Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, a friend of Marcel Duchamp and one of the most controversial artists of her time. The origins of the sculpture will probably remain a matter of speculation, but its enormous impact on the art world is beyond doubt.

The second T-shirt is less bold, but stands out with a graphic that is subtly yet firmly connected to the Kunsthalle building. The design draws inspiration from the copper footbridge that leads visitors into Kunsthalle Praha, a building full of art that is also home to our Design Shop.

The collection is rounded off with sweatshirts and a T-shirt featuring a print across the entire back and a simple “ART” on the front. We initially nicknamed them ART RAT, and the name stuck. It comes from the slang term “gym rat”, describing someone who spends a lot of time at the gym. So if you feel at home in galleries and find yourself spending almost more time with art than with your family, choose from the grey or beige options.

The FULL OF ART collection is made for anyone who loves art and quality clothing. The prints throughout the collection are screen-printed by Analog Bros, a workshop specialising in hand-pulled artistic screen printing. Analog Bros is part of the renowned 44" Print studio.
