Vladimír Ambroz graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at VUT Brno and was known from the mid-1970s as a performer and graphic artist. He designed mainly posters and record covers and collaborated externally with Czechoslovak Television in Brno. Between 1976 and 1981, he focused on performance art mostly in Brno, documenting his actions and developing the experimental art of the 1960s. His work highlighted the need for change in normalized Czechoslovakia, but as change did not come, he eventually returned to architecture.
