Postcard Full of Desire

The FULL OF DESIRE postcard serves as both a collector's item and an original greeting in one's mailbox.

The postcard was designed by visual artist Joël Andrianomearisoa, who visited the Kunsthalle Praha before it opened to the public. His visit resulted in a project, about which you can read about below.

Facade Project

Visual artist Joël Andrianomearisoa visited the Kunsthalle building while it was still being reconstructed shortly after the first lockdown. He got an unusual sight of the city without tourists and of the building where a future gallery space was just being created. Prompted by these uncertain times, the artist turned to Mail Art (postal art), which would allow him to continue creating in the event of further COVID restrictions. He developed a correspondence project, which he called "Translations of all our past passions and future desires," and showcased the title as a shining inscription on the façade of the building in Malagasy, his native language. From February 2022 until June of that same year, Joël sent the Kunsthalle Praha mail of his "letter works," which were created using economical means from everyday objects and materials of our time. Among them were drawings, assemblages, paintings, objects, textiles, jigsaw puzzles, and sound compositions, and along with each incoming letter they were always placed in the newly created spaces of the Kunsthalle Prague. The resulting installations can be viewed on a set of postcards under the title "Mail Art Postcards" in the Exhibitions section.
