Product detailed description
Unfinished Book presents Richard Hamilton’s final, incomplete text-and-image project, conceived as a companion to his 2003 Retrospective catalogue raisonné (1937–2000). Written and designed by Hamilton (with Phillip Spectre’s assistance) during a period of convalescence after a hip fracture, the project saw content, typography, and images evolve in tandem with the emergence of digital layout tools like Adobe InDesign.
Published exactly as Hamilton left it in 2011—complete with blank leaves, original pagination, and unaltered layouts—this volume offers a rare window into the late creative process of one of Britain’s foremost painters and collage artists, capturing his lifelong commitment to innovation in both form and method.
