How can one explain the history of Czech and Slovak photography and its current form in a comprehensible format? "Guide Through Troubled Territory III" picks up where its previous successful works left off and is dedicated to modern Czech fine art and architecture. This time around, the authors focus on photography, the fates of photographic artists, and the stories that come with them. The intention is to once again create a publication that maps the development of photography in our country in an understandable and attractive format that begins in the first half of the 19th century and carries on to the present day. The core of the book consists of a selection of more than six dozen of the most important authors, presenting both their works and their lives. František Drtikol, Jaromír Funke, Josef Sudek, Jan Lukas, Dagmar Hochová, Josef Koudelka, Jan Saudek, Jindřich Štreit, Libuše Jarcovjáková, Karel Cudlín, Antonín Kratochvíl, Tono Stano, Ivan Pinkava, Miroslav Tichý, and many others. The text is supplemented with a compilation of stories that come in comic book format depicting key moments in the development of our Czech photography heritage.
