The artists behind this piece, Aneta Honzová and Natalie Constantino, achieved a softness (which is unusual for vases) using a velveting technique. They themselves describe the collection as delicately absurd and remarkably strange. The collection brings an exceptional combination of ice water, crystal glass, and the softness of velvet.

Mood Indigo

Young designers Aneta Honzová and Natálie Constatino decided to explore the boundaries of velvet technology, which had expanded in the 1990s, and created a collection of vases that would appeal to both the eye and the touch. You might recognise velveting today mainly from the inside of eyeglass cases, but it is a technology that can be applied to various materials, including hand-blown crystal, as with the Mood Indigo collection. The name of the collection is a reference to the book that inspired it: "Mood Indigo," by Boris Vian. The artists agree that their vases are as absurd as they are romantic, as is the case with Vian's book.
