The first composite book by photographer and visual artist Bára Prášilová summarising her work for the last 15 years. The book's editor, Thomas Beachdel, characterises her work as "photos of wonder" that skate the edge between beauty and strangeness, reality and fantasy, and tenderness and violence, which stems from the author's sense for the absurd. The imaginative photographs of this visual artist are created as carefully planned productions based on sketches and using props that she designs and often makes herself. They express her desire to bring the world of dreams and illusions into tangible reality. Througout her work, for which she has won numerous international awards, we'll find a number of motifs that are obsessively reused time and time again not only in her photographs, but also in her videos and objects.
